IT IS AN OWL, HONESTLY!

Well it was nice whilst it was here but now it's gone!
Our mini, mini heatwave has moved on and now we have much chillier days with autumn sunshine and winds blowing all the leaves off the trees ~ just how it should be :)

A mini, mini Happy Dance to share with you . . .

'Night Watch' by Heart in Hand
stitched on 28-count Barely Bronzed Linen with my choice of Sampler Threads

It is quite a cute little finish but my family all struggled to realise that it actually was an owl sitting in front of a pumpkin and suggestions of both a cat and a dog were offered???  I do agree it does look a bit of a mash-up of animals and the fact it looks as though it's wearing a neckerchief and a lot of lipstick doesn't seem to help.  I thought if I finished it with a pumpkin fabric it might help give it some identity, what do you think?

I think my mojo is on the downward slope at the moment and as much as I sit going through all my stash nothing seems to appeal BUT I thought I might tackle one of the charts I purchased last year in America . . .

This is a Charmed Flakes design by Hinzeit called 'Deck The Halls' and although it's a little early for snowmen it seems to be quite an easy design and I do have all the right ingredients to make a start!

If any of you seem to have had a sudden surge of mojo, please check whether it belongs to me and kindly SEND IT BACK ASAP :)

Thanks for stopping by
HAPPY STITCHING

Your finish is gorgeous, and if the owl's a little bit abstract, it just makes him more unique! Love your new project and really look forward to seeing how you finish it (there, did that help your mojo find its way home?)

Oh, isn't he cute! I can tell it's an owl, Jane :) And I have that same finishing fabric. I fell in love with it last year when I saw it on someone's blog and immediately had to track it down and buy it!!

Sending you some of my mojo!! I have tons of it--just have had so, so little time to stitch lately :(

I can see the Owl too Jane and it's very cute, and looks great with the fabric you picked for the finishing. I can't wait to start to see some progress on Deck the Halls, and it's never too soon for some snowmen ;).
I'm guessing that your mojo might have gone for some holidays with my mojo, because mine is missing too. So if I see them together I'll send yours back home :D

Hi Jane,
Identity crisis I agree, although I love the way you have finished her, well I was going to say it has to be a her with lipstick but maybe not hmmm!
Oh love that snow man Deck the halls I have not seen that one. No I am not going to look for it! my mojo is drowning under allthe to do pile. So is I see yours waving ,not drowning I will rescue it and send it home.

Love your new project. I hope you get your mojo back soon so you can stitch it. Mine is in full swing so maybe I can send you some of mine until you get going again :)

Yup, that's an owl and a very cute one at that! Your finish is adorable Jane!
Funny how mojos go. Mine had been waning a bit too. I think it's just taking a bit of a break before it has to hunker down for winter!

Love the cute little owl pillow. The trim, fabric and buttons make it just a perfect finish too!

I know just how you feel, when you can't decide what you want to stitch next. 'Deck the Halls" looks like it will be fun!

What a cute finish Jane. Hope that stitching mojo returns soon, that Hinzeit chart looks like just the one to get it up and going again.

I think it's a cute finish but I can kind of see what they mean. LOL! Well done!

You'll enjoy stitching those snowmen. They're a real fun stitch so maybe this will help your mojo :o)
